HELP RAIJOSÉ BEAT CANCER

Raijosé is a 32 year old professional from Puerto Rico who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4-B Hodgkin Lymphoma. His is currently unable to work due to the severe symptoms of the disease. Given some personal hardship, he lost his health insurance and is covering all the medical costs with his savings and help from family and friends. Raijosé still needs to undergo extensive testing and 12 rounds of chemotherapy treatment. We need to start treatment at the beginning of December and the bills are adding up. His family and friends have been very supportive during the process but the medical costs are too high and we need your help.

Lymphoma is a general term for cancer of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is part of the body's immune system, made up of a complex network of lymph organs including: bone marrow, the thymus and the spleen. The lymphatic system is filled with fluid called lymph, which carries nutrients, waste and white blood cells (lymphocytes) around the body. When lymphocytes develop abnormally or fail to die when instructed to, they can collect in the lymph nodes and form tumours.

 

There are many different sub-types of lymphoma, which are divided into two main types: Hodgkin lymphoma (Hodgkin disease) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
